AP student artists
have their evening in the spotlight on May 6, at 7 PM i
n England Plaza, when the HIES community celebrates "Spotlight on the Artists"
. Their top quality work is to be exhibited in a bistro setting for the public's enjoyment. Runway models will display fashion creations that embody the personalities of the fourteen AP Art students. Upper School art students from the other classes designed these imaginative costumes, made up of all recycled materials. The Recycled Fashion Show is something you have to see to believe. It has been a noteworthy month for the Visual Arts program in the Upper School. Four HIES students took prizes in the 17th Annual Student Art Show in Sandy Springs. Senior Kishauna Callwood
won 1st Place in Black & White Drawing; Junior Amelia Fugitt,
Photography, 1st Place; Sophomore Wood Alter
1st Place for Mixed Media; and Junior Keaton Anderson
, 3rd Place, Painting. Their artwork will be on display through the month of April at Brooklyn Café and Slopes Barbecue on Sandy Springs Circle.
Out of 250 entries from over 25 high schools, two of the ten HIES students submitting work to the 17th Annual Pace Academy Photography Competition received awards. The Juror for the competition, Atlanta photographer expert, Jane Jackson, awarded 12 awards, of which Holy Innocents' students received two. Meagan Miller

, Honorable Mention.
