Congratulations to the Class of 2020!

On behalf of the entire college counseling team, congratulations to the Class of 2020! As the school year draws to a close, I am excited to share a few highlights from our senior class’s college admission journey.

The Class of 2020 will embark on their next educational adventures at colleges and universities as diverse as the class itself: from California to Maine; from Colorado to Florida; from Texas to Michigan; and from Oregon to Quebec. You can find the full list of colleges to which the Class of 2020 will matriculate, along with those offering admission.

Nearly a quarter of this year’s graduates will leave the southeast for college, while about 30% will stay in Georgia, including 22 students to UGA and 12 to Georgia Tech.

Of our 137 seniors, 28% will be the lone representative in their freshman college class.

Three graduates will attend a women’s college and three will attend a Historically Black College or University.

Thirteen will participate in NCAA athletics and six graduates intend to study the visual and performing arts.

Among many significant scholarships awarded, students in the Class of 2020 have been recognized as a Posse Scholar (George Washington University), a Park Scholar (NC State), and a Scheller College of Business Dean’s Scholar (Georgia Tech). An appointee to the United States Air Force Academy will have the cost of her college education fully funded before going on to serve our country.

The members of the Class of 2020 will offer an enormous amount of potential and talent to their college campuses, just as they have left a lasting legacy at Holy Innocents’. On behalf of the entire HIES community, the college counseling office wishes our newest alumni the very best in their journeys beyond our campus. We’re proud of you, Class of 2020!
