On Sunday, Sept. 7, members of the HIES community gathered at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal Church to celebrate Episcopal Schools Sunday. The service brought together parish and school in worship, with students participating as acolytes, readers and musicians. The Rev. KC Crewdson '11, Middle School chaplain, delivered the sermon, reminding us that an Episcopal education is about nurturing the soul as much as it is about nurturing the mind.
The celebration came just ahead of Founders’ Day on Tuesday, Sept. 9, marking the 66th anniversary of HIES. Together, these occasions honored the deep connection between church and school and reminded us of the continued support, guidance and encouragement of our founding parish.
