National Merit Scholarship Recognizes Seniors! Congratulations once again to Samuel Lamback '26 for being named a National Merit Semifinalist, along with the following students who received Commendations: Marshall Camp '26, Kate George '26, Julie Luttrell '26, Gavin Miles '26 and Lewis Smith '26. These students all earned top scores on the PSAT. 

Softball Wins Region Title! Last week, after their win against Coretta Scott King Women's Leadership Academy, our varsity softball team were named Region 5 2A Champions – Go Bears!

Thank You, Parents' Association! On Tuesday, Oct. 7, the HIES Parents' Association provided every faculty and staff member with yummy fall treats and coffee. We're so grateful for the support of our parent community. 

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! On Monday, Oct. 6, the Upper School Asian Cultural Association hosted a delicious lunch in celebration of the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival. Thank you to our student and parent volunteers, including Yanling Xu, HIES parent and owner of the Canton Cook restaurant in Marietta. 

Celebrating St. Francis Day! Students have recently been participating in celebrations of St. Francis Day, which honors the patron saint of animals. Lower School students held the annual "Blessing of the Stuffies" during chapel, and Middle School students enjoyed getting their pets blessed during Friday morning carpool!
