College Counseling

Teacher Recommendations

Students will request that one or two teachers (max) write a recommendation letter for submission with their college applications. Colleges usually require letters come from teachers who have taught students in junior or senior years in a core subject area.  Some colleges have their own form that students need to give to the teachers they have chosen to write the recommendations. The Counseling Office keeps track of which teachers are writing letters and will follow up to ensure that the letter is sent to the appropriate college or university.
