Upper School
In an Upper School with offerings more typical of a college, the ways to success are many. At HIES, it's part of the plan.
When a student arrives in Upper School, we meet with the family to create a four-year plan. We talk about interests and goals. We talk about academic courses and activities. And each year, we meet again to review and assess the plan.
It makes sense. When you attend a high school with as many opportunities as HIES, you want to make the most of them. Academic courses? Where else can you study oceanography and engineering and film & TV production? Sports teams? We have 38 of them! Arts offerings? More than 40! Student clubs? There's barbecue, fly fishing, rock climbing, knitting and dozens of other clubs!
The Upper School offers 27 AP courses, 52 honors courses and 4 post-AP courses!
Holy Innocents’ Summer Academics program seeks to continue developing in students a love of learning, even in the summer months! Our program is proud to offer both traditional and experiential learning opportunities for high school students.
