HIES Distinguished Alumnus Award

The Distinguished Alumnus Award recognizes an outstanding alumnus for their personal and professional accomplishments and contributions to their community. This alumnus must embody the Mission Statement of the School (Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School develops in students a love of learning, respect for self and others, faith in God, and a sense of service to the world community.)

Distinguished Alumnus Feature

Scott Whitehead '83 is the recipient of the 2024 Holy Innocents' Episcopal School  Distinguished Alumnus Award. Mr. Whitehead is a businessman, volunteer and author. He serves as President and CEO of Whitehead & Associates and Chateau Energy, both of which are in the electrical industry. Among many industry achievements and awards, Whitehead & Associates has been named as one of Atlanta’s “Best Places to Work” and “Top 10 Healthiest Employers.”

 Mr. Whitehead has a passion for supporting the communities where he lives and  where his companies do business. His companies have a “Volunteer Time Off” program where employees are encouraged to donate up to forty hours a year in paid time off to assist at a charitable organization of their choice. Mr. Whitehead’s personal community engagements include volunteering at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School as a sports team leadership coach, and the former president of the Touchdown Club and the Crimson and Gold Athletic Association. He is a former youth sports coach and on the leadership team at Northside Youth Organization, and he led the Confirmation class at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church for over seventeen years. Today, he leads a youth leadership bible study each day of the week. He has served on the board for Mountain Top Boys Home, and on numerous other civic boards and associations. Because of his years of experience and belief in the importance of mentoring kids and young adults, he was inspired to write the book “Pillars of Support: Lessons to Help Parents and Mentors Form Trusting Relationships with Kids That Last a Lifetime”, published in 2022.

Mr. Whitehead holds a bachelor’s degree in Commercial Business Administration from The University of Alabama. Scott and his wife Tasha have two adult children who graduated from Holy Innocents', Ashley '19 and Peyton '17.


Will Keyes '05 is the 2023 Distinguished Alumnus Award recipient. He holds four degrees from the University of Georgia, including a J.D. and an M.A. in economics. He is a U.S. Army reservist and serves as the deputy criminal chief in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Georgia, where he leads a team of federal prosecutors and coordinates law enforcement investigations in 70 counties. He completed Airborne training in March 2023. Read more about Mr. Keyes. 




Kate Stice Stewart '04 is the 2022 Distinguished Alumnus Award recipient. She is the owner of Bauble Stockings, collection of small, hand-stitched, velvet-backed stockings made by women in Haiti. Five percent of each sale's profits currently go back to the community in Haiti, while other profits have been donated to a variety of charitable organizations. More than $70,000 has been donated since 2018.
