Welcome!

At Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School, you will be given every opportunity to fully tap into your creative potential through our exciting programs in music, theatre, media literacy and the visual arts.

You will get to work with professionals in the industry throughout your time at HIES, because we have faculty who are exhibiting artists, current Hollywood screenwriters, off broadway set designers, SUZI award winning actresses, and professional musicians from heavy metal bands to Opera Singers to published composers. We are 30 strong in the department – so the school’s commitment to a rich experience and robust course offerings begins in the Primary school. We enhance our faculty with guest artists, choreographers, filmmakers, journalists, and clinicians to expose our students to the best of Atlanta.

There are so many unique opportunities that come with engagement with the HIES arts experience, both within the school and in the broader Atlanta community. You can see HIES musicians perform as members of the prestigious Atlanta Youth Symphony Orchestra and Atlanta Youth Wind Ensemble. You can see 100 student artists exhibit annually at the High Museum of Art alongside the masters as part of our academic affiliation. Visit our mini CNN upstairs where anchors, producers and editors learn to write for tv vs. print and then take their skills on the road to events like TEDX. Our productions are regularly nominated for the Shuler Hensley awards and our film program is making a name for itself both in the state of Georgia and nationally.

Here you will explore your passions, learn something new, develop diverse talents, have fun and make an artistic contribution to our community. The Fine Arts department is here to nurture, hone and showcase the artist within every student as we seek to inspire each mind and fire each heart.

Thank you,
Heidi Domescik
