Broadcast
Keep It Golden, HI!
Broadcast Journalism, a component of Holy Innocents' Media Literacy curriculum, began in 2009 with the launch of a weekly newscast written, performed, and produced entirely by Upper School students. WHIS News broadcasts online each Wednesday morning and now features both short and long-form stories. In 2017, WHIS News finished in the top ten of the National Scholastic Press Association’s “Best in Show for Broadcast” list.
Students alternate between tasks and receive training in every aspect of production – writing, filming, sound engineering, field reporting, anchoring the news desk and editing in the post-production suites using Final Cut Pro software.
