Holy Innocents' Episcopal School is excited to welcome to the community Nigel A. Traylor, Ed.D., our new Middle School Principal, as he officially begins his work in the division this week.
Dr. Traylor did his undergraduate work at Clayton State University before earning a Master of Music from the University of Georgia and a doctorate in education from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Traylor also earned a Master of Education from the University of Pennsylvania and a certificate in advanced executive leadership from Harvard University.
Prior to HIES, Dr. Traylor served as principal of Bishop McNamara High School in Forestville, Md.—a coed Catholic high school with 887 students and 93 faculty members. Before his work in Maryland, he held director positions in the Jefferson City School System in Jefferson, Ga., and at Lakeview Academy in Gainesville, Ga. With his new position at HIES, Dr. Traylor has moved back to his hometown where his parents and family still reside.
"I am looking forward to getting settled in at HIES this summer and learning all I can about the day-to-day operations for the Middle School," he said. "In my first year, I plan to meet as many people as I can and begin cultivating relationships with the internal and external community. I hope to use the information I will gather from listening and learning in ‘Year One’ to begin the discussion about how we can continue to be one of the premier Middle Schools in the nation."
