Boys' Hoops Win Third in a Row

Our team is red hot! The boys’ basketball team won its third game in a row Monday night, this time trouncing Weber 93-26. Coach Adrian Collins’ squad is coming off of a two-win weekend where they also topped Atlanta Classical and Kipp Academy.

In the Weber win, Devin Farrell had a big game with 16 points and five assists; Grant Esler scored 12 and pulled 12 rebounds; and Alex Hyatt had 12 points and grabbed seven boards.

Looking ahead, both the girls and boys will be at home Friday when they tipoff against Galloway. The girls play at 6, the boys at around 7:30 p.m.

Over to wrestling, today (Tuesday) is Senior Night for Coach Stacey Davis & Company, as they line up against Marist in the main gym at 5:30 p.m. The Mat Bears will celebrate the careers of Sam Cravey and manager Ellie Rousseau.

HIES is coming off a tough but competitive weekend, where they competed in the two-day Prep Slam, arguably the best high school wrestling tournament in the country. Michael Cox was the main highlight; the junior placed third.

The swim team reopens its regular season schedule next Tuesday when they travel to Chamblee High School. Abby Pilkenton and Spencer Pearson have been two of the many bright spots thus far.
