Mat Bears Shine on Senior Night

The Golden Bear Mat Bears celebrated Senior Night with a win Tuesday, overcoming rival Marist 50-30. With the victory, Coach Stacey Davis’s squad goes into this weekend’s Area Duals with a 10-2 overall record.

“It was a solid win,” Davis said of the Eagle victory.

This upcoming duals will be Saturday at St. Francis, where the top two teams will advance to Macon for the State Duals the following weekend.

In the Marist victory, the Bears got pins from Reagan Sherk, Jake Swink, Anthony Morgan, Britt Hilton, Israel Evans, and Michael Cox. Sam Cravey won by forfeit, and both Charlie King and Art Martinez won by major decisions.

Before the bout, upperclassmen Cravey and manager Ellie Rousseau were honored in a special Senior Night ceremony. Both have been with the program all four years and have been instrumental in the school’s success.
